Her Story

La’Kerri Jackson

La’Kerri Jackson is a global social impact leader, humanitarian, mentor, and economic empowerment champion whose career and service have been shaped by a longstanding commitment to expanding access and opportunity for others.

As Global Director of Social Impact at UPS, La’Kerri leads the company’s global social impact strategy to drive economic growth for underserved entrepreneurs and small businesses and advance youth empowerment worldwide. She also leads UPS’s Women Exporters Program, helping male and female entrepreneurs break barriers to poverty by accessing and thriving in global markets. Through this work, she is helping shape business as a force for inclusive economic growth.

Her commitment to service, however, extends well beyond her corporate career.

For more than three decades, La’Kerri has invested personally in women, children and underserved communities in the United States and around the world. Her service has included mentoring elementary students facing truancy, supporting teen mothers and survivors of domestic violence, developing life-skills programming for teen survivors of human and sex trafficking, creating mentoring initiatives for youth with severe emotional and behavioral disorders, and establishing a scholarship program that helped international women pursue higher education in the United States.

Her humanitarian journey has also taken her across Africa, Asia, and other parts of the world, where she has worked alongside community leaders, government stakeholders, educational institutions, non-profit and non-governmental organizations, and others to serve vulnerable populations and expand access to opportunity.

Today, that commitment continues through The African Women’s Economic Empowerment Initiative (TAWEEI), a personal venture which La’Kerri founded to expand access to capital, business development and economic opportunity for women entrepreneurs across Africa. Since launching in 2023, TAWEEI and its partners have mobilized more than $334,000 in financing, helping thousands of women entrepreneurs and family-owned businesses in Uganda strengthen and expand their businesses, support their families and contribute to their communities.

With more than 37 years of cross-functional corporate experience, La’Kerri has built a career characterized by leadership across business and social impact. Her service extends to nonprofit leadership as well, including her role as Co-Chair of the Corporate Council for CARE International and other board and advisory positions focused on poverty alleviation, workforce development, women, children and expanding access to opportunity.

Her leadership and impact have earned recognition across corporate, humanitarian and women’s leadership platforms. Yet at the heart of La’Kerri’s work remains a simple conviction: influence matters most when it is used to open doors for others.
